When I am installing NT 4.0 server, right after it is telling me the sorce location is, it tells me it can not install the nt loader. It then continues to tell me to make sure that my hard drive is formatted. I formatted several times, but with no avail. what can i do to install nt 40 sever on that computer. It is very urgent, deadline is coming soon!! Thanks

Just another thought ... try a G-format ... basically a low level format ... especially if there was an OS previously installed on the drive you are using. Any format process that really destroys data can help. I have have this problem with similar installation at times and I have had to really clean the disk off. I also agree with Yizhar ... AV can also be a culprit at times to hinder the install so make sure it is disabled. If feasible, try a new drive to get you going quickly considering you are somewhat under the gun. Good luck.

before you install nt4 boot from a dos boot disk and run the command:

fdisk /mbr

at the command prompt and then format as they have said above and try the install.
