Trying to automate the rebooting of servers and a number of times when servers reboot at say 3am they hang while attempting to "write unsaved data to disk". Question is:- Is there a timeout that can be set, in the registry?, that will stop the server hanging and continue on its reboot process?? Any suggestion would be appreciated

Does this server happen to be running Exchange? If so you may want to create a batch file that stops all exchange services before rebooting.

We have the same type of problem where I work with the server hanging.&nbsp;&nbsp; The difference for us is we don't do an automatic reboot.&nbsp;&nbsp; When we try to reboot a server, we are usually connected to it via pcAnywhere.<br><br>Any ideas would be most helpful.<br>

StephenPeterson - the server is not running Exchange but it is running MS SQL Server V6.5.&nbsp;&nbsp;I could try shutting down the SQL services before the reboot.&nbsp;&nbsp; Thanks for that idea - any more would be appreciated.

Running a batch for closinf the application services will definitely solve the problem

<br>One more thing to try. And please let me know if this works for you. Just increase the size of the Page file. It worked for me! <p>Amiel<br><a href=mailto:amielzz@netscape.net>amielzz@netscape.net</a><br><a href= > </a><br>
