Hey all,
We are facing this weird prob for quite some time and we are on the verge of reinstalling the server but before doing that...im asking for better options.
Our NT server freezes at night and every morning we have to do something (which could be anything, just do something on the server)to make it accessible from the our local area network.
And while in sleep it responds to ping messages but ftp requests and normal access requests from the LAN fail.
We have no clue why is it happeining?
Could it be some virus which temporarily blocks these ports (and apparently norton is unable to detect it).
Moreover,to our utter surprise this problem has now moved on to our another server (which is windows 2003 server). These two servers and some other (which are for now unaffected) are on the same switch and behind the same firewall with identical configurations..
Anybody has some suggestions on this??
Thanks in advance
