NT server freezes at nights

Hey all,
We are facing this weird prob for quite some time and we are on the verge of reinstalling the server but before doing that...im asking for better options.
Our NT server freezes at night and every morning we have to do something (which could be anything,just do something on the server)to make it accessible from the our local area network.
And while in sleep it responds to ping messages but ftp requests and normal access requests from the LAN fail.
We have no clue why is it happeining?
Could it be some virus which temporarily blocks these ports (and apparently norton is unable to detect it).

Moreover,to our utter surprise this problem has now moved on to our another server (which is windows 2003 server).These two servers and some other (which are for now unaffected) are on the same switch and behind the same firewall with identical configurations..

Anybody has some suggestions on this??

Try this....

disable\remove any screen savers you have enabled on the server (just turn the monitor off)

check your power settings and make sure that the drives are not set to turn off. also make sure hibernation is disabled.

update your virus software and run a FULL scan.

run a spyware checker.

You also might check for any scheduled processes, backups, left over programs, etc that may be running wild and causing the problem.

We eliminated a boat load of issues by scheduling the servers to re-boot every night after everything is finished. It takes care of those loose ends that tend to accumulate in NT.
