NT security dialogue box appearing when DLU applied

I have a Windows NT4SP6 workstation with Novell Client 4.8SP3 installed. I have created a non-volatile DLU with the workstation policy object in the same container as the user object. The NT security dialogue box requires login as opposed to having Novell manage the local profile. The Workstation is not part of a domain. Any ideas?

Have you checked that the workstation manager component of the client is installed and the correct tree is listed?

Yes, the WM service is installed and the correct tree is chosen.
