Hi Guys. We are running a Windows NT Server and NT4 Clients. When we install a printer that printer is linked to the user in there roaming profile.

How when we install a network printer for it to be linked to the PC not the user?

Many thanks in advance

Craig

HI.

You can install the printer as a "Local Printer" instead of "Network Printer".

The process is like this:
Log in to workstation with administrator rights.
Start - Settings - Printers.
Delete the network printer.
File - Server Properties - Ports
Delete the "LANMAN port" of that printer.
Create a new "Local Port" with the UNC path to the printer.
Install a new "Local Printer" using the "Local Port".

This method also eliminates many other printing related problems.

Bye
