Well, there's a new Opt 81c w rel. 25 sw sitting in the shipping dock, it has 4 columns:
1. Core/Net Mod CPU0 (NT5D21), with two IPE modules on top of it
2. Core/Net Mod CPU1 (NT5D21), with two Common Equipment (Net) modules NT8D35BA on top of it.
3. 3 IPE mods
4. 2 IPE mods, and a MM mod.
Plus, there's four extra modules to place on to the columns for a four mod high system. One of these extra mods has nothing but a panel with connectors on it, can that be the NT8D36 Intergroup module?

The deal is, there are no Intergroup switch cards, not Fibre (FIJI) cards at all. How would the columns be connected to each other, isn't either a IGM or fibre cards required?

Can that connector panel be the IGM, if so aren't Intergroup switch cards and associated cables required?

Also, the thing came with no CNI to NET, 3PE, or Core/Net cables, according to the manuals, these are required to connect the columns.

Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, It sounds like you were shipped a 81c with an intergroup module. The Intergroup should have a total of 22 amphenol connectors. These would be for your network groups. They should connect to each Network Module by IGS cards. You will need 2 CNI's (1 for each core/net) to supply your 2nd network group. If you were suppose to have a FNF 81 (fiber fabric) you would have seen FIJI cards and CNI 3 cards. Hope this helps. Any more questions just post. Good Luck!

Hey thanks for the info. Well, found the IGM module, and also all the network modules have DIGS, dual intergroup switch cards, are these cabled out the same way as IGS cards, because the manual does not show it?

Als when buying cables, is it ok to buy one of each vintage/length, or is it better to measure the cable length for each connection?

It is shown in the manual NTPs. Look in the installation or you can find it in the UPGRADE many also. Dont forget all the plugs without cables in the IGM modules must have terminating plugs in them for the switch to operate correctly. You should have the cables already with the new system. If not measure the lenght and order the correct NT8D76xx where xx is the order code for the length.
