Hello all. I am running IIS which was installed with the NT Option Pack on my LAN. When I try to access my website from a browser I get a logon/password dialog box. I have no idea why. Perhaps it's something to do with permissions, which I don't know a lot about. There's not any firewalls involved. Anyone have any ideas to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

IIS works basically off the Hard drive, meaning C:\Files can become \\hostname\files or
There should be a value in Director security to enable you to choose rights from the NT Domain as to who can view this area. Best settings are give users view/run/execute with Admins getting the three.

If this in unrelated or no help, let me know and I will have another go

Fatz,

Thanks for your help. Between you and the network administrator here, it works great. Here's what I had to do:

In IIS, I
1) clicked into "Directory Security"
2) Clicked the "Anonymous Access and Authentication Control"
3) Clicked "Edit"
4) Changed the username to IUSR_server_name. What I didn't know to do was delete the domain_name from \\domain_name\IUSER_server_name. This was my problem the whole time.
5) Click "Enable Password Synchronization".
6) Click OK....

Thanks again for your help!

Steve
