Long story short...
CompanyA has rebranded itself as CompanyB and all existing Notes servers have CompanyA name as Organisation name. This

must be changed to CompanyB and migrated to new serves/hardware.

Fact:
-JoeBlow/RegionA/CompanyA (CN/OU/O) has been working at CompanyA for several years.
-JoeBlow encrypts all saved and sent mail.
-JoeBlow is a developer and has signed many design notes and databases with ID: JoeBlow/RegionA/CompanyA
-JoeBlow and 100 other Joe Blows (identical users) need to be migrated to new servers and new organisation
-All JoeBlows wish to retain all mail from their CompanyA mail files and access to databases created by

JoeBlow/RegionA/CompanyA.

-Admin (me) created new environment: JoeBlow/RegionA/CompanyB (CN/OU/O)
-Admin has only created one user in new environment
-Admin added new JoeBlow to old JoeBlow mail file ACL
-Admin renamed new users mail file to mail\JBlow.old and nt copy pasted the orignal mail file to the new environment

therefore effectively placing all mail intact on the new server and accessible by new JoeBlow ID.

Issues:
-Encrypted mail in original mail file now placed on new server not accessible by new JoeBlow ID
-Calendar profile document errors due to mail file owner set from tools, preferences in notes mail client still reflects

old JoeBlow as owner. Manually changed (automated answer somewhere?)

I realise this is just a few of the problems I will no doubt encounter but I really need to do this effectively and given

that I am not constrained by a time frame I can experiment like I have done.
Ideally I would like someone to point me in the right direction as I feel I've gotten off track and that there's GOTTA BE

AN EASIER WAY!

Any response would be appreciated
Thanks folks

All you should have to do is create a document joining your old and new servers. Then simply go to users and groups & move your people to the new server location. If the 2 servers will talk to each other this should work okay. I have moved people from server to server in my org. Works okay. the thing to do is not to recreate a user. This always makes a new ID file incampatible with the old one. Keep the original id files somewhere safe for backup.

Why dont u just recertify your users with the new cert you created for company B thus keeping the encyption key intact ?

And if u have a connection doc between the two servers you can get adminp to move the mailbox for you and it can even update the profile. As long as you are running 5.0.5 or later on everything

Jackdaw is correct. It's easiest to recert the user id's with the one you created for CompanyB. You may also want to visit Look for "Domino Supersearch" on the left side of the screen. You can enter your query and it will search about ten other websites for you.
