Hi,
I hope this problem is not too complicated but the description is long:
I have a dual-boot system (win nt 4.0 and suse linux) with two hard disks.
On the second hard disk I have the Linux Loader LILO, with which I was successfully booting NT. NT itself is installed on the second partition on the first disk.
I (stupid me) formatted the FIRST partition on the FIRST disk, because it was formatted with NTFS and I wanted it to be FAT. I forgot that the NT boot data was on this first partition. But the whole rest of NT is on the second partition. Now, when I select "boot NT" in LILO it says, "ntldr not found". So, I cannot boot NT any more.
Is it possible to
* copy new ntldr etc. files onto the new first fat partition
* recover the NT loader using the NT CD-ROM (without rescue disk!)
* or how else can I restore and boot NT and have my first partition's file system changed to FAT?
I thank you very much for any possibly helpful answers!
