Does anyone have any experience with News server software for the Windows NT platform? There seems to be alot of Unix & Linux based News servers, but not much on the NT side of the world.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

For less than the price of DNews you can set up a linux or NetBSD server to handle your email, news, and intranet needs with excellent results without dragging down your NT PDC, BDC, or file server. Consider dropping a low-end machine into your network to deal with things best dealt with under unix. I found DNews somewhat flakey (I tried the evaluation on NT 4.0). Also, it may be used as a secondary name server or DHCP server on your local segment of your wide area network if you are using one. The linux installs I've seen have been very good at allowing easy set up and with some judicious reading of documentation it isn't that difficult. Gives you a bit more meat on the resume as well.<br>
