I am in the process of backing up a small network, before I get too far I tried to backup the Information Store. Using NTbackup on the exchange server with a DD4 tape drive, I select the Microsoft Exchange Server and the Information Store. DO the Backup and verify, it verifies 0 files and when I check the Restore there is no info under the Mailbox Store, Public Store and the Log files. Simple file backups seem to work OK. Where are the files?

Drew

We never do file backups of exchange... Here is what mine looks like. As you can see it doesn't have very much mail.

That is what mine looks like, I will try to restore it to a Lab server and see what happens. It should populate the mailboxes and restore the trans logs, right?

Thanks
Drew

Yes.

You must have the AD entries though. Dan

Yea, I am working with LDIFDE to try to accomplish that.
Where can I get the best info on that utility?

Thanks
Drew
