Hello forum

After several weeks of testing, we're finally taking
SMS with AD live.

I've had varying degrees of success with the product and
the SUS updates utility seems to run pretty well.

I have a question about messages regarding the "NT
Authority System"

My package status reports a failure because the program
didnt produce the proper exit code or no MIF info was
found.

Could there be a conflict with the param switches on the
updates and the SMS program's "After running" settings.

I have it set to after running "do nothing" however the
switch params for the updates are /q /z and a few others
I'm looking into.

Has anyone experienced this when pushing security
updates.

Thanks still in the learning curve ;)

Count430, I have the same issue at the moment (Still working on it to resolve). Please let me know if you hear anything back to resolve this.

Okay, I had to change the program parameters from do nothing to program restarts computer.

This allowed SMS to detect the exit code after the program completly finished and restarted the PC.

I hope this helps with your situation..

Are you making the advertisement mandatory? If not, try it. I was having a similar issue.

I ended up recreating the Software Update packages with the appropriate switches (Note: the updates are fussy with parameters). Then the updates was able to exit with the right exit code.

All good now.. thanks.
Now I'm having fun with the Wake on Lan with SMSWakeup from 1e...NOT!.

You'r funny, now that may be an issue of updated lan drivers to support the wake on Lan, or configuration concerns, I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Keep having fun, NOT!

I have question on timing and that is: just how long should you wait for a package advertisment to show up once it reaches the scheduled time.
