Hi all,

Our SysAdmin is getting a problem on the production box when trying to set a CE user up to use NT Authentication. It works in Beta but not in Production. I'm trying to find some avenues of exploration that may lead us to an answer.

The error messge we're getting is:

"Error updating Windows NT authentication properties: NT Authentication failed to verify the mapped groups. If the problem persists, please delete and re-map into Crystal all currently mapped groups"

Of course we'd very much like to not have to delete and remap all other groups. Any suggestions of what to look for?

Hi, It appears that, for some reason, the production box cannot read the Domain info.

Try creating a local group on that box and then try to add the Domain level one as a member..If you can access the domain that way, then CE should be able to.

Did anyone find an answer to this question as I am having the same issue.
In our case the web server, with the web connector, is on a seperate server from the CE and WCS.
The CE/WCS server is a AD domain controller.
Any clues, thanks.

It appears as though only 'Local Groups' or 'Global Security Groups' can be used in Crystal Enterprise for NT authentication; 'Domain Local' groups do not update.

What ended up screen printing the rights of groups and users. Then we removed the NT groups and re-added them. Then you have to go in to Crystal and manually grant rights back to users. One draw back is the users will lose their favorites, and they will also lose any preference settings. We also had to reschedule any report that was run through scheduler.

But you should call Crystal first. I think they were ->this<- close to a solution and the guys on the tech staff over there may have tossed the problem around amongst themselves and be more familiar with it now.

HTH and Good Luck!
