I have an NT 4.0 Workstation that is on two networks with 2 NIC's. I installed some software logged on as Admin and the individual user can't use it because of an error message about security or permission. When I try to install it as the regular user it states I don't have permission to install software on that workstation. The software I am trying to install is for use on the other network which requires no security authentication and is going through a proxy server but no specific domain name just using DHCP for IP routing. Any ideas on a quick fix to allow the user to log in normally and still be able to run this software for the second network. As always thanks for your excellent advise.

You can do two things here, the easiest is to go to the directory where the app was installed and check the NTFS permissions and the share Permissions(if the dir is shared), allow all users, Then (all of this is done logged in as administrator) go to the start button, right click and explore. Look for the app in your start menu, copy or cut and paste it to the all users start menu, and assign all users the proper permissions. After this is done, and as long as the other network can access the computer (see it's shares and explore them) you should be good to go.

Good Luck,

Thanks again SteelDragon, you have been most helpful to me this week, should have thought of that on my own but glad you were there to help me. This surgery has had me down and out of it this week. I am recommending you to the site for your excellent tips.

Thanks again,
Keith
