I am planning on upgrading from NT 4.0 to XP Pro. I currently have NT installed on a 2GB FAT partition (c:). When I run the XP upgrade advisor it informs me I do not have enough space on c:. My d: partition is a 35GB NTFS with tons of free space (c: and d: are partitions on the same physical drive). If I install XP Pro on my d: drive to create a dual boot with NT, is their any way to force the use my current NT setup/registry settings ? Or will the d: drive XP Pro installation be a clean, virgin install only ? I have no overwhelming desire to have a dual boot system, I am just looking for ways around the 2GB problem on the c: drive partition where NT currently resides.

I would do a clean install instead of an upgrade. I would repartition the HD to get rid of the 2gb partition as its not much use any more and have 1 large partition or split the drive into 2partitions the same size then install XP PRO
