If you are looking after multiple sites with various software levels on NSU's how do you go about using IMAT with them.

Do you have to carry every level of IMAT?

How do you know what version of IMAT to use to connect to the NSU?

On other thing, I cannot see an option for DASS2 with IMAT?

Thanks

The latest release of IMAT will be backwards compatible with the software in the NSUs. IMAT will tell you when the database you are retrieving from an NSU is of an older version. When you make changes to the database and then go to save it to the NSU, you will be prompted as to if you want to upgrade the database or leave it at the current level.

BE CAREFULL!!!!! Always check the FCI (Field Change Instructions) or RN (Release Notes) for the software level you are using in the 200 ICP, 3300 ICP, or the SX2000 before changing the software in the NSU. The FCI or RN will tell you what software the NSU should be at!!!

You do not need to use IMAT to programme DASS2, you only use IMAT for PRI and Q-SIG inmstallations.

All DASS" programming is done Via the sx2000 or 3300 which ever you are setting up

Thanks Mitelguy at least i only have to carry the most upto date version.

Ian,
I thought you had to set the 3300 to ISDN NODE then on the NSU set it to DASS?

If this is not the case and i set DASS on the 3300 what do i set the NSU to?

Any help/advise programme steps greatly appreciated.

OK

all you need to do is set the trunks like so.

circuit descriptor
B end
digit insertion no
ISDN type DASS 2
Voice conversion ADI
Data conversion NIL

MSDN/DPNSS circuit descriptor
Signalling protocol DASS 2
Card Type Universal E1
Dual Seizure priority outgoing
Far End connection main PBX

thats all you have to do, obviously programme your trunks remember even if you are not using all 30 trunks you must still programme them all up and only assign the number of trunks provided to your trunk group.

set switch 5 to the down position on at the rear of the NSU for 75ohm connect your NSU to the 3300 let it download its firmware and away you go.

hope this helps

Ian

Cheers Ian that is the way i thought it should be done but was told otherwise.
