Hi,
We're runnung legato Networker 6.1.3 on a Sun V880R having 4 * 750 MHz CPU's. As soon as nsrd uses 23,5 % of the available cpu Power, legato hangs. The whole rest of the mashine (all other 3 CPU's) is idle.
I could see that Solaris (8) is shifting the nsr-load from one CPU to another but as soon as I start the nwadmin GUI (e.g.) the response takes houres. Does legato only support one processor?

Regards spaceball

We run Netowrker 6.x.x on Multi-CPU processors (albeit on Windows) without a problem.
An individual process will not split itself over CPUs, but you should find that child processes will be on other CPUs.

When you are starting nwadmin, are you starting it as nwadmin -s servername? If not, it could be the time to get the address resolution.

ALso, try running nsradmin -s servername (replacing servername with your server's name). If this comes back quickly, then you are not looking at a problem within Networker itself (at least, not the nsrd process). To get out of this, type in quit and enter.

If nsrd is pegging a single CPU (and not coming back down), it might be hung anyway. It's running < 5% on my 2-way box right now, and I've got the little bas**** busy.
