Hi all,
I have just installed a Pana NS700 with 6 x ch of SIP from Gamma. We are using the clients own internet service for the SIP. Their router has had all the port forwarding done to the NS700. All works fine. They declined having a dedicated Gamma assured 15 service!
The client has now decided that they want us to install a Session Boarder Controller between their router and the NS700 for added security! I suspect their ISP has told them to get one as their ISP looks after all their network security.

Has anyone else done deployed one before and what configuration would need to be done? Would I need a dedicated public ip and a local lan ip for the SBC?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Marek

Hi
That sounds like an over kill for a few sip trunks. Once port 5060 is locked down to sip provider ip.

I never set one up but looked at one for a job we were doing and there is a bit in setting them up and any one I saw was on its own broadband. If you don’t do the customers IT, you could be blamed for issues on the network if they arise

Hi,
Yes 5060 is only allowing traffic from SIP ip! I’ve told them it’s unnecessary but they are insistent. I was hoping you’d say it was relatively straightforward. Ha ha.
Thanks for your response.
Marek
