Hi all

i have an ns1000 and a slave ns1000 on a different site. the sip trunks work through the in built router config on the master NS.

I want to put the router running the sip trunks on the same LAN as the system/DSP/phones etc. this will involve disabling the router on the NS and changing the gateway to the the new router IP address that will sit on the ciustomers network.

Currently phones from various sites register to the master, the master sits on the customers network which currently and uses THERE gateway which i plan to change, they also have various routes in the router configuration on NS to allow connections from each site.

my question is is there any reason for in built router to be used in this scenario? If i disable this will this effect the traffic coming in from the other sites? i would think not as the connectivity is setup via there network. Setup below, wondering how the SIP RTP ports get to each DSP card as they are on a differnt LAN? Does anyone see any issue with disabling/disconnecting this Router LAN and putting it on customer network?

You can change everything on to the Lan if you reconfigure their firewall for the sip trunks

the routing shown in the screen shot is only required if you have enabled the wan port of the system to let the system know what route the ip ranges should go, if wan is disabled then all traffic will go out the lan by default

Ok thanks. When a large DSP card is installed which has 2 IP address, does the RTP ports get forwarded to the first DSP IP as normal?

Thanks

Ports 16000 to 16511 goes to first dsp IP address and 16512 to 17013 go to second dsp ip address(you may want to check my maths to be sure)

Ideal. Gamma sip trunks use 6000-40000, I should be ok forwarding these to the fist DSP IP right?

Cheers
