Has anyone run into problems with having NRU 8.1 and NRU 10 installed on the same pc. I cna launch 8.1 with no problems, but when I try to launch 10 I get a message saying that the application encountered an error. 10 was running fine until I installed 8.1. I'm running WinXP.

BTW, I have both versions because I have a couple of customers running DR5 software.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

why are you using 8.1. DR5 systems will still work on the 10.0 version. You cant backup the DR5 anyways unless you use really old software. Also, if memory serves me right, 8.1 is not compatible with XP.

NamLy55,

In the readme addendum in NRU 10 user docs it specifically states that NRU 10 will only work on SW ver. 2.0 to 6.1, quote, "You can use NRU 10 with MICS and CICS running any version of software from 2.0 to 6.1."

If this is wrong, than great. I haven't tried it due to time constraints.

Also, I've been running NRU 8.1 on an XP machine with no problems at all.

Thanks for your response.

I had my drive repartitioned.

I use WN95 with 8.1

I use 10.1 with WN2000

The Remote Utilities portion of NRU 10 will only work with ICS systems R2 and higher. The Norstar Manager portion of NRU will work with older DR5 systems and ICS systems R1.0 and R1.1. You can perform backup and restore on DR5 with Norstar Manager.

exs,

Thanks for the info. That'll work. Also, I found that the set interface on NRU 10 works on any SW ver. as well.

I noticed in an earlier reply that DR5 s/w could be backed up using Norstar Manager. I have a 8x24 with DR5 and have been unable to remotely back it up. I believe that it is because in the customer profile, 8x24 is not a choice for KSU. Any suggestions?
