Does anyone elses NR041 Router have a very hot temp. to touch. I mean, I could almost burn someone it is running so hot. I just purchased it over a week ago, so I am wondering if this is normal or I should take it back or if the unit usually is so hot. I have it properly ventalated. For such a small unit I am surprised how hot it is. Let me know
if I should exhchange it. Thanks.

They are warm, but should not be hot.

Take it back.

Note as well how they are cooled.

They use convection, assuming that hot air will vent from the top, cooler air will then be drawn from the small vacuum created through the bottom.

Rules:

1. Do not put it on its side, mount it verticly.
2. Obviously, do not put anything on top.
3. Do not stack, as the cool air flow will receive hot air vented from the device below.

cpgarcia,
Bill is right! The router should not be running hot.I would say that have it replaced or RMA the product.

Goodluck,
Julius.

You know what.. I think it was running so hot because the temp of the room it was in was very warm.. Cause I did notice then when it was cooler in the room, the unit was only just alittle warm. The room probably was at 85 or more.. so I think that was it.. Question now would be, did the fact that the unit got so hot maybe have done some damage to it?

Thanks.

Chris

Chris,
Well, on that case if you think it has somethin to do with the room temperature, better try to place that router in a different room, then verify if the router will gonna do the same thing. If same thing happen, router gets hot, well then it's up to you if you wanted to replace it or not.I would say it's a hardware problem of the router.

Goodluck,

Julius

I know some people have mounted chip coolers on their routers, it does mean removing the case and leaving it off. Others have mounted muffin fans to the case.
