Hey Everyone,
We are running a 4.11 server patched up to the equivalent of a 4.2, and we use PSERVER for all of our printing. (approx 25 queues) 10 or so are direct connects to the printers, but the rest of them are attached to computers use NPRINTER to route the Queues to the appropriate printers. All of our workstations are Win98SE, and we have the most current version of NPRINTER (4.16). The problem I'm having is that occasionally, it seems like the NPRINTER will lose contact with Pserver. Print jobs get sent to these queues, and the jobs sit in the queue as if the printer wasn't connected to the computer, or Nprinter wasn't activated for that particular queue. The only two ways I've found to reset this to correct it is to either reboot the workstation, or to remove the printer from Nprinter, and add it again. This seems to reset whatever is wrong, and the jobs print as normal. Any ideas on what might be causing this and solutions?(HP 2100's, 4000's, and 4100's so far)

Also, we've been having a problem with some of the printers that are directly connected to the network dropping the connection with the server periodically. Mostly that involves recycling the power on the printer, and it finds the server when it resets.(HP 5si's, and 8150's)

I don't know if these problems are related, but who knows...
Thanks for any help you guys can provide

How is your network configured? Are your network ports set to auto-negotiate as you may find that the networked printers will work better when the network connection is forced to 10Mb Half Duplex. Same with the PCs that have printers connected to them. -----------------------------------------------------
