anybody know if there is a web site were i can get the free calling area from my NXX

I would call that the "local calling area". Since it varies for every telephone carrier, the only accurate source is _your_ local carrier. Many carriers have a guide to what is local from what NXX.

However, this is a start

I would 2nd GHTrout's recommendation. You can do a google search and come up with a few different sites, but if they are providing the service free, then they will usually have a disclaimer that they are not guaranteed to be accurate.

There are sites that will sell you this information, and are usually are more accurate than the free sites, but your best bet is your local carrier, as they are the authority on the matter.

I've had good luck at the AT&T site - check a whole area code or a specific npa-nxx to another npa-nxx.

I didn't have to log in to use the checker - but, as mentioned above, things change and they don't guarantee 100% accuracy.
