Here is the issue:
We recently moved around our naming servers and configurations. Most of of machines are Windows 2000 Pro with the 4.81 client. This problem didn't arise until the old WINS boxes (NT 4 Server) were removed and the new ones (W2K Server) were brought online. When the client workstation starts up if you try to log in right away you get the 'I'm busy' icon for a while and then it times out. If you select 'Advanced' and click the tree icon first to locate the tree, you can log in with no problems. So it appears that the machines are unaware of the novell servers until they are browsed for. I went back to the old WINS boxes but did not see any entries for the Novell servers, but I gotta believe that there is something related. Now the question is should I add a WINS entry or should the novell clients just know about the servers through the client? Any Ideas?
