Hi
my setup is Terminal server 4.0, citrix metaframe 1.8/sp2 Novell 4.6.
whenver a user launch an application he is asked for Novell login box and then he goes forward and access the application. when the same user clicks on some other application he is again asked for the novell login and when i see in the Citrix server administration window i see two connections for the same user using 2 applicaitons. when the user click on third applkications he is again asked for novell login box but he cannot log in as he has 2 log in novell.

can anybidy tell me everytime novell login is asked and why each application uses differnt license .

thanks
sunil

The way it works is that he created a new Session to the Citrix server. Then he logged on to the Novell server from both Sessions, creating two logons. Then when the user creates that 3rd session, he is attempting an addditional 3rd logon to the Novell server.

If the user is launching apps from a Server Farm (not from Custom ICA Connections) then the client usually just launches another application from within the same "Session" (With some exceptions to the rule such as different encryption levels).

So (this probably doesn't help but) you really shouldn't have this problem if your users are using Program Neighborhood and NOT Custom ICA Connections.

Hope that answers your question as to WHY this is happening. Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA
