Novell NAMED and 2 NICS

Question-

The hardware -
NW5.1 SP5 eDir 8.6.2

The problem -
Server has 2 nics installed. One public, one private. Apparently when we try DNS queries, NSLOOKUP and specify server IP address, no external name resolution is occurring on the public interface. On the private interface resolution works for both internal and external names. Only internal names can be resolved when the external interface is specified. Why the internal
interface is so special... I don't know. Anyone have a clue? Thanks....

Do you have your DNS configured to forward DNS queries to a public DNS Server?

How about a FireWall? Do you have a FireWall in place that can handle forwarding DNS requests?

Please advise.
