I didn't see this in any of the forums so I will ask.Is there a way to monitor Novell Messenger or is there some type of holding bin that messages go to if a department head wants to find out who is doing what?? Thanks in advance.
Actually, it's not invasion of privacy. There have been many court cases in which company email has been used without consent of the specific employees. The courts have determined that all email is owned by the business which owns the server, therefore it is not invasion of privacy to look at such email.
I believe most courts would agree that record keeping of "Novell Messenger" conversations would also NOT be an invasion of privacy.
Corporate conversation archive. GroupWise Messenger can be set to archive conversations on an encrypted log file that's available only to trusted users. Conversation archiving helps your organization meet certain government regulations and support litigation cases.

I use messenger... The messenger has two main components... Messenger Agent and the Archive agent. They run on the server much in the same way Groupwise agents do..
Anyway, archiving the messages is a breeze. It's pretty much an install routine with a few post-install configurations in console one. It's one of the easiest installs I think I've ever done.
