I have a Windows XP Pro workstation that I have attached to my Netware 5 Server using the latest client. Everything works fine, except when I use an application that requires a Novell id and password it picks up the XP ID rather than the Novell ID. I have the station logging into Windows as a generic user (since multiple users login to it). I have about 150 users (Novell Users) and don't want to create a user ID on every station. Where can I tell Novell to pass the id on to XP?

You can use the Dynamic Local user feature in ZENWorks to workaround this issue. There are a few applications that do this, look at the local user ID instead of the network. It's just the easiest API to write to.

SInce you posted here, I am assuming you use ZENWorks. Just enable the dynamic local user, and the user ID's will be created dynamicly on the local workstation. You canchoose if you leave it htere or remove it from the system when the user logs out. Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +
