novell client upgrade 1

Is the newest client for win98 (3.32) a standalone client or does there need to be an existing client in order to upgrade?
The file I downloaded was off of novell's site.

Also, the filename is NC332SP1.EXE
I'm just a little confused on the difference between service packs, the standalone, and whatever else.

Go here to get the client 3.32 with sp-1:

support.novell.com

Under 'downloads' click on 'product downloads'

#6 on he top 10 list is client 3.32 with sp-1.

Follow the instructions there.
