Novell Client Update: Groupwise Error 1

Hi

We run NW5.1 SBS and Citrix Metaframe 1.8

I have just updated our Novell client on the Metaframe server from version 4.83 to 4.90, and am experiencing the following problems when accessing Groupwise:

1) The client requests the user name, password, IP and port number, but will not accept these details as entered.

2) After two failures, a message informing me that "Groupwise did not initialise correctly, please run Groupwise setup" is displayed.

Is this an erroneous error message generated by the Novell client update, or do I genuinely need to reinstall Groupwise 6.5 after having updated the client?
 
Hi

One user is able to access their Groupwise mailbox; the user is an administrator. However, other administrators are not able to access their mailboxes.

The Novell site does mention user permissions as a possible cause.

Any information much appreciated!
 
no this should work ok

when you upgraded the client - you did make sure that you dropped to a dos box and typed change user /install
and after finishing you type change user /execute

this would cause the above issue

i would remove gw client and then reinstall - making sure you put the server into correct mode - to be truthful though the novell client is seperate from gw and shouldnt affect it

Thanks for the tip - turns out that the problem must have been to do with client 4.90, as I installed 4.90SP1 and the problem was resolved.
