Novell client mapping to win2k server 1

I have a Novell client 4.83 sp1 which logs onto NDS and has a permanent mapping to a win2k standalone server (not part of AD). The win2k server has a password expiration of 30 days. What happens is when the password expires on the win2k server, the user gets a message saying that "password has expired".They do not get an option to change the password. They have to call the help desk to have the id reset and map the drive back again. I'm not sure how to fix this problem. We are not allowed to change the desktop loads. Any help is appreciated.

You need to do somthing to sync the passwords. Novell has a product call Account Manager that will do this for you. It does require you to load a special version of the NetWare client onto your Win2k server, but nothing needs to be done at the workstation level.

Thats what I figured. We have a utility called changepassword and that does not work with Novell client on the desktop. Thanks for your input.
