Novell Client & Sco v5

Hello!

I have a mixed Sco 5 and NetWare 5.1 server environment (using IP). If I use the Novell Client (latest), then opening/saving files on the Sco box is very slow (fine on NetWare) - it can take 2 mins to open a simple Word doc. Tried with older clients, different OS (win95/98/2000) all with same results - can anyone help me please ???

If everything is taking two+ minutes to open a file from the Netware server, then I would suggest that either the network needs to be checked or there is a lot of traffic in and out of that Netware box. How long does it take to ftp a 3 meg file across the network?

Thanks for your response - the NetWare server runs fine, no problems. The problem is opening files from the Sco server. The NetWare client seems to be the cause of the delay (remove it and all is well). I have tried many different versions of the client, including latest and tried differing OS's, such as win95/98 and 2000 - all the same.
Makes me think there could be a setting in the nw client ??

any further advice appreciated!
