Hello,
I was thinking about getting certified in novell. I am leaning toward getting one in groupwise first and then go for more after this. Any thoughts on this tact? Thanks Paul
Just go for your CNE. The GroupWise CNE has been retired and the GroupWise Specialist certification will be retired at the end of this month. All Specialist certifications will be retired at the end of this month and will not be continued.
Agreed. Even if you could get the Groupwise CNE still... If you don't understand the core NetWare OS, you'll have a difficult time with Groupwise anyway.
I agree... Do NOT try taking GroupWise unless you at least know the basics of NetWare. The course assumes you know how to create objects, understand eDirectory, understand rights, replication etc.
If you start with the NetWare 6 CNA - Foundations of Novell Networking you will get some very basic training on GroupWise 6.
The GroupWise 6 Administration course covers everything from installing a basic system and configuring it, to installing the GUI and Web Access. If you're familiar with the GroupWise 5 courses the GW 6 covers the info from the Admin, Advanced Admin and Net Access and Connectivity courses. The GroupWise 6.5 course should be available at training centers pretty soon now. Be sure that you are getting the 6.5 course rather than the 6.0 course. Most of my customers will be upgrading to 6.5 for the new SPAM features.
