Hello all,
Being a school technology person one of the wonderful things we all get to do is support large softwares that we had recieved no training on what-so-ever and are expected to be gods with it...anyway )
We have SASIXP and Novell 6 SP3 latest Java, you know the usuall to keep it running nice and smooth. The server runs normally at 3 to 4 percent. When teachers are really pounding it maybe 10.
Our administrators, in all thier infinate wisdom say it is the server and what can be done about it. I say it is SASI and the problem is with the software. Am I wrong? Are they wrong? Or are we both.
I need to know if anyone out there has run into this same problem as we have. Everything else including the network seems to be running with no problem at all, but when SASI is opened it seems slow. Is there something I can do on the server to help it out? It doesn't seem to take anything from the server as far as processing power. Seems to be all local on thier systems at thier desks.
HELP!! They are slamming us because they say it is the server. I say it is the software itself. In order to help alieviate the situation I wondered if there was anything I can do on the server to help the software out? Like some kind of swap area, something with giving it memory to use. Something that will help the software run.
I know this might be the wrong group or might not belong here but if someone in here has run by the same problem that may have a solution it is worth it.
Thanks again for every ones time who reads this.
