Novell 6 BackupExec Change Tape drive type

Using Novell 6.5 and BackupExec V 9.1

Need to change tape drive from an HP DAT drive to a Sony AIT4.
Both SCSI so should have been no problem.
BE does not see the AIT drive when changed.
SCSI controller sees it "Scan for devices" doesn't
On BE 8.5 there was no dynamic update of the drive list so you had to delete a folder on SYS:BACKUPEXEC called PM. There isn't one in Netware 6.5.
What's the trick on 6.5 ??

before you were using NWASPI and may have even deleted or renamed NWTAPE, well, now you need NWTAPE and do not need NWASPI.
