Hi,

I have a newl win2000 server. I need to connect one of my workstations running win98 to a Netware server running 3.12 as it has a legacy billing program we must access.

I believed I have created the gateway on the NT server and have Gateway services for Netware running.

I have a problem because know I cant get on to the server to create the NTGATEWAY group therefore I can not create a user on it that is recognized by the nt gateway .

I cant seem to find the necessary software to create a client so that I can get on the NETWARE server --
and do the above -

I have the win 98 workstation plugged into a hub along with the netware server( so they are a mini network )- if I put the netware server on the windows nt network It wont let me on .

Any help appreciated..

Tom

If you have a machine that can log in to the Netware server, you should be able to setup the account. However, if you don't, you'll need to make the Win98 machine talk to Netware first, in order to setup the ntgateway account. That means you need to install IPX and the Netware Client, and you can use the Microsoft Client for Netware Networks to acheive that. After you get the account setup, you can remove the client, and connect through the ntgateway. Don't forget to setup a share with the proper permissions on the Win 2000 Server pointing to the correct Netware directory for the billing program.
