If your organization wants to setup a network for 100 clients, it is best to seek the guidance of a professional. In the long run, it will save time and money over a "do it yourself" installation.

1. you can go with what Novell recommends on its web site,
or get a good Dell, Compaq or IBM server class system, with
512MB of memory (the more the better), as much disk as you can afford and P3 or P4 processor.
2. Do did not say what your budget was?
3. TCPIP and IPX out of the box, others at a cost.
While IPX is easier to setup, esp. on the client side,
TCPIP is the option of choice for just about everything
these days.
4. Ethernet is industry standard, Token-Ring is ok, but
who uses it anymore except those needing to support
legacy environments.
5. NW5 is primarily a file and print resource, but it
does a variety of things very well. Database,
Internet Server, Single login, Directory Services,
Email.

All this kind of info is available at which is a very good web site.

1- The minimum server specification to use novell server 5.1:- PII 400, 256 Mo, disk SCSI ( if you can).
raid adaptater (if you can).
verify compatibility device.

2 - on netware 4.1 for 300 users , we have 256 Mo RAM
for netware 5.1 , you can to take 2 Mo for user.

3- Ip or ipx ( i suggere ip for remote admin)

4- i think that ethernet topology is very less cost that the tokenring topology.

5- files server et print server but utility zenwork 2.0 isn't supported ( 2years)

i hope that my explaination will be you but my english is very limited and j find that the netware server it is a very good product.

there are in the netware 5.1 a serverweb to integrate.

the netware 6 is oriented web.

A+
