I've never seen this in all the years of working with Access.

I have a database that was working fine and the next day everything is gone except for the file name.

The file shows 1900kb of data. When you open it there is nothing.
No tables, queries, forms, reports, modules.

How can this happen?

don't think so.
when you open the db I have a switchboard set and it can't find it.
if it's hidden it would still work, right?

I selected the Hidden Objects and see the tables and queries only but can't unhide them and view the data in them.

how did this happen and how can I fix this?

how can I fix this
With a copy of your last verified backup ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

As PHV so rightly pointed out....Your last backup.

Also have you tried to create a new db and import all the objects from this one?

Does that show you anything in the new db?

Yes, the back-up seems like the thing to do but if for some reason the company's restore does not work I was hoping there was a solution beside the obvious.

Yes, on the import in a new db. it does not see anything.

How does this happen?

NOTE: none of the forms, reports or modules are there. You can only see the hidden tables and queries BUT cannot be opened.

No Definition is what I get when trying to open to view the table.

Did you try to import all these items including the forms, queries, and macros/modules?

yes on the importing attempt.
i only see the hidden tables and queries and it won't let me import these. it says I don't have permission.

this is so strange. I've never seen this before.

how does this happen?

As for the back-up, yes, I agree. I don't know who set the back-up and don't know if it will be successful or not.

BUT in the case it is not, I need to try and get this back WITHOUT having to re-do I that I have spent several days creating.

HELP PLEASE!

I was once successful using ADO to write the data to text files with a database where nothing else seemed to work. I suppose you have a backup of the damaged database in case these attempts are making matters worse?

ok, found out that this one user's station is the only station that it is working on.

the actual user had issue with her station and went to access it from this other station.

since then it is not working on anyone else's but this person's station.

anyone know what that's all about?

NOTE: the database is on a server that user's access.

Versions of access installed on each worksation the same?

They did not do something like convert it to a newer version or something?

that was my first thought and it's MS Access 2000 on the user's stations.

NOTE: only the user's account can access it at this time as well. anyother user gets the same not found result.

VERY ODD!

PLEASE HELP!
