We have a Notes/NT server on a Novell network. Some Win'98 clients can't connect to it. Theses clients came pre-installed with a proprietary version of Win'98 that is newer than the Win98 CDROM. So if we try to reinstall Windows on top of itself it always goes to the cab files, and can't use the older CDROM. The only solution so far is to reformat the hard drive and use the Win98 CDROM. I tried overwriting some of the DLL's which did not fix it.

We would like to know if other people have seen this problem and is there another way to fix it without having to reformat?

What protocol are you using, what version of notes. And what name resolution method are you using.

We are using IPX/SPX. The frame type is ethernet_802.3.
Our version of Notes is 5.0.8.
This setup works on most of our Win98 clients, except on 4 or 5 newer computers.
