Please help, I have put together a newsletter using basically a 'tabbed' table. Each Tab (or rather in my case page) need to contain information but I want a background image in each. I have achieved this by going into Table properties and inserting an image (from my local HDD) into the cell. It works really well but when I send it the image is not there.
I'm assuming it's because the picture isn't imported to the note but rather links to my HDD but am not sure.

Any ideas very much appreciated, it's driving me mad and I'm supposed to be sending today !

Hello,
Try adding the background as an "Image Resource". Then use the Image Resource when specifying the property. Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John

Thanks for teh reply. I think this is what I was doing though, basically I need my background picture to become an image resource. I can see my pics (and choose them) in the inamge resource list but others cannot. Is there something I need to do to make them appear on other peoples systems?
Is there an easier way to have tabbed pages with backgrounds?

Any help appreciated.

An image resource is part of the design of your database. As such, it is not sent with the mail. The recipients therefor cannot see it if they have not included said images as resources in their own mail database (which is not the case as of now, I think).
You have two choices : either you request that everyone includes your images into their design (you need to take that up with your administrator - prepare for a refusal), or you can create a new memo form with your modifications and use the store form in document option in the form properties.

The latter choice requires a bit of design work that is not too difficult, but it may still not work if your recipients have unchecked the "allow stored forms" in their database properties (and you have no control over that).

In short, in a mail document it is a much better idea to use a simple color as background instead of an image.

Pascal.
