Hi all

we have notes R5, the problem we are having is happening on our laptops, P3 1Ghz IBMs & P3 866 Armada's. when a user logs on to notes, there pc goes to a crawl. the main culprit is a process call nupdate.exe. can this process be removed safely, or is there an other way around

PS - we are currently installing a new mail server. this may be a good time to make changes if needed

sorry, never did find a solution. we do end the process, and it dosen't seem to cause a problem

Hi,

The update proces is actually the full text indexer.
Remove all full text indexes from any local databases and you should be fine.

Then re-create the full text indexes only on the databases that you really need to have.

Removing nupdate.exe is not recommended because it will prevent using search functions properly.

Kind regards,
