Hello,
We are using Notes module (NML) v3.0 and nsr client v7.3 on windows 2003.
Backup server is running windows 2000 and Networker v7.3.
It seems that NML v3.0 does not accept network drive.
The Notes DB are located on a network drive on a filer. Wehen we use network drive n:\... or UNC \\filer\.... to backup Notes DB it doesn't work.
I have tried a local backup on the client using nsrnotesv and a SUBST drive to backup 1 Notes DB and it works! But it doesn't work form the backup group on the server.
The path is specified in NML config file on the client.
Here is the result:
D:\>nsrnotesv -c nsapp01 -b LotusNotesDB -s cdcbk -z c:\test.txt n:\lotus\domino
\data\XPMigrat.nsf
NSFDBOpen() failed for N:\lotus\domino\data\XPMigrat.nsf with error = 525 (This
database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a Notes dat
abase, all users must use a Domino Server instead of a File Server.). (process_d
atabase_entry|1236|1024|0)

D:\>nsrnotesv -c nsapp01 -b LotusNotesDB -s cdcbk -z c:\nsrconfig1.txt \\filer\d
ata02\lotus\domino\data\XPMigrat.nsf
Cannot access \filer\data02\lotus\domino\data\XPMigrat.nsf. Entry ignored.
Either nothing was specified to backup or system is down.

D:\>nsrnotesv -vvv -c nsapp01 -b LotusNotesDB -s cdcbk -z c:\nsrconfig1.txt z:\X
PMigrat.nsf
Z:\XPMigrat.nsf Wed Apr 26 16:21:52 2006

nsrnotesv: level=full, 18 MB 00:02:36 1 file(s)

Any idea?
Thanks,
Dominique

Have you tried to make your subst command in a precmd of the scheduled backup ?

you can specify a precmd in your nsrconfig1.txt

I would use the parameter NSR_BACKUP_PATHS to specify the data to backup.
If your subst command generates a disk z: from \\data02\lotus
NSR_BACKUP_PATHS points to z:\domino\data .

I think the Best way is using fibrechannel to access your filer.
If fibrechannel is not possible use iSCSI, Windows 2003 is capable of iSCSI, most filers can provide it without additional license fees.
With iSCSI you have Block-Level access. To my opinion everything else is not supported by Lotus.

domi1805,

I know this is a late response but I noticed that your UNC mapping translated the 2 \\'s to just 1 \

May try adding 2 add'l \\'s, I don't know if this will work or not.

Hello,
We are waiting for a fix for this problem:
backup of Notes databases located on a network drive (NetApp) filer.
We are ruuning windows 2003 on the Notes server!!!!
