Notes Invalid Page Fault

I'm using Lotes Notes R5/Patch 5.09 for Windows on a Win98/HP worksation.
When I open Domino Desinger - the programs opens, prompts for my user password, enter ok, then get nlnotes has caused an invalid page fault in nnotesws.dll @ 0167:0011d8ad.
same every time...
