Notes.ini filepath for bookmark.nsf

Hi,

We're implementing a user dependent notes installation, by writing the notes.ini to point to user data on their shared network drives (lettered g
(if a user the logs into a random system in our network, he will then always get his own notes client)

(i.e. we added the following (and other) lines to notes.ini:
names=g:\notes\names.nsf
desktop=g:\notes\desktop5.dsk
etc.)

We're running into a problem with the bookmark.nsf however... We can't find how to specify the location of this file. If anyone knows how to do this, please help...

This is a condensed version of how we addressed this issue and please use it an example because your network structure is different that how we setup our network structure.


There is an easier way to do this. We have roming users who log on to multiple workstations or multiple users logging onto a shared workstation. What I implemented to address this issue was to (1) copy notes.ini to their personal home directory (2) Network Installed Notes on the Users home directory, ie Home directory is " H " drive (Notes.exe will still be executed from an application server that house Notes.exe) (3) modify the notes.ini (see sample below) and copy it from c:\winnt folder to user h:\notes\data folder (4) modify the Lotus Notes shortcut on the desktop to point to H drive, ie s:\notes\notes.exe =h:\notes\data.


The only drawback with this method is that it takes up space on the data server where the home directory is kept for roaming profiles. But it sure saves tons of head-ache

This way where ever the user is, the roaming profiles will be used to point notes to H drive where the notes.ini is kept.
