I have just moved a user from a dumb terminal to a fully fledged pc.

I have tried to set up his notes account but every time I open it it comes up with the following error;

Notes directory inaccessible. (notes 5)

I have located the notes folder on C and the one shared up on the network but it doesn't like either of them.

Any one have any ideas about this.

thanx in advance

Check to see if the Notes.ini file (or other file(s) in the Notes directory or Notes\Data directory is set with a Read-only attribute. The file should be set to Read/Write.

tried that but still no joy.

In the end I just deleted my Account and ID file, then set it up again.

Thanks for the help but I had run out of time for fixes so I went with the drastic. At least it works now.

I have run into this - was this an XP Pro machine? Settings on a default install may prevent a regular user (as opposed to a power user or local admin) from accessing the Notes directory properly - only read access is granted. You need to change the security on the directory to allow writes to the directory.
