Notes Database: Manipulating Word 97 fields

Hello World.

We have a database, constructed using Lotus Domino 5. In a document we have an embedded Word 97 document which contains a number of fields. In the Lotus Notes document are fields which contain information we would like to hand on to the Word document every time the Notes document is opened.

I was thinking of taking the information from Notes and sticking it into the document properties in the Word document. What do you think? Any idea how to do this or any better idea?

I have done something similar using Excel. Try opening an OLE connection (here's the Excel code I've used).

Then I set individual cells in excel with the info from the document

excelsht.cells(2, 3).value = doc.DocketNo
