Hello

I have a trick question to ask, and I was wondering if anyone has seen such a configuration, or know how to implement?!

One of the the sister companies in europe have a mail server. the users do not have access to the mail server (ie ctrl-o to open a file). the users mail files reside on local. the user only uses the mailfile on local to send and recieve mail.

does anyone have a similar configuration? what settings are used on the server side, to poll and hold the "awaiting mail", so when the users connects to domino, the witing mail is pulled through to locl mailfile?

and does the mailfile of the user, on the server, get maintained by the admin? or does the mail get removed from the server mailfile, as soon as the user connects?

any, knowledge of this type of scenario would be greatly appreciated.

kind regards

Sounds like the "Mail File Location" setting in the users location document (Mail tab) is set to "Local" and they are doing scheduled replication to the server to get their new mail.

The server copy won't be removed as it's needed for replication. The whole setup wouldn't work if the server mailfile did not exist

Strange setup!!
