Hi All,

We are running on BCM 400 with 3.0 with the following:
IP Clients - 32
32 CallPilot Unified Messaging seats
32 CallPilot Mailbox Increment
CallPilot Professional Call Center
CallPilot Fax Overflow
CallPilot Fax messaging
IP Clients - 1
IVR Ports - 4
LAN CTE Desktops - 32

We wanted the 2 step upgrade to 3.5 and then finally to 3.7. We had some problems and could not perform the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.5. Nortel does not support 3.0 so our vendor decided to get a new hard drive for 3.5 and then do the upgrade to 3.7 and re-program the BCM from scratch.

From my experience so far, the technitian sent by our vendor does not seems to be experienced in BCM upgrades. I need to know the list of things I should do before replacing the hard drive:

1.) I need to make a note from the current BCM.
2.) Any files needs to be backed up.
3.) Is there any way to print out the current config.
4.) I am note sure how key codes are going to work. We have the upgrade ket codes.
Any help would by apprecited.

1.) I need to make a note from the current BCM.
best way to get a full config. printout is to login using SSH and run the telinv.exe command. this will create a XML file with all your configuration. see other threads on how to.
2.) Any files needs to be backed up.
cannot reuse any of them
3.) Is there any way to print out the current config.
see above
4.) I am note sure how key codes are going to work. We have the upgrade ket codes.
keycodes stay the same within release 3.x

Thanks for the response. SSH does not work, however I can do telnet. It gives me following options after I telnet:

1. Platform Initialization Menu
2. System Configuration
3. Configuration Wizard
4. Media Services Card System ID
5. Diagnostics
6. System Status Monitor
7. Command line
8. Restart the system
X. Exit
I chose 7 for command line and tried to run telinv.exe. It did not work.

1. Use the command line
2. Goto: F:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\Voice Solution
by typing the following:
f: <ENTER>
cd .. <ENTER>
cd Voice Solution <ENTER>
3. Run telinv.exe
4. Read Instructions

to create the XML file for destination codes type telinv -dc
you can transfer that file by enabling the bcm drive shares inside the maintenance section on the bcm main-page.
after enabling open an explorer window and goto \\bcm-ip\DriveF$

Thanks, it really worked. XML files opens up in explorer. I am trying to export it to excel so that we can print it in a readable format.
