Notes 6.5- full text indexing

Hey folks, need help. I have user how's full text indexing stoped updating. I deleted the index and attempted to create a new one. It goes through the motions but is not creating a new index. When I click on the search it shows not indexed and the statement shows that the full text index needs to be rebuilt. Any suggestions?
