Notes 6.1 from Home Hangs Not Responding

I receintly installed Notes 6.01 on my Windows XP system at home. Using the ATT Client to get to IBM network. I can get to my Mail OK but if I try to edit the subject line or anything in a note received , Notes goes to Not responding. If I then use Task manager to "go to Process"
it always goes to Explorer.
Is there anyway to tell what's causing this ? Maybe a trace ?
This also happened at Notes 6.0 level . The XP system has sp1 installed. AT&T Client is Version 5.03.1
